SHOWDOWN AT AFTERMATH A Multimedia Arts Spectacular from the Students of the UWM Peck School of the Arts April 16 & 17 The students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Peck School of the Arts are introducing a new event to Milwaukee’s arts scene: Showdown at Aftermath. Showdown, a multimedia arts spectacular featuring performances and exhibitions, takes place Friday and Saturday, April 16 and 17, at the Turner Hall Ballroom, 1034 North 4th Street (2nd floor). The post-Gallery Night Gala on April 16 begins at 8 PM and continues till 2 AM; the gallery re-opens at noon on April 17 and entertainment begins at 8 PM. Admission is $5; a portion of the proceeds will support future collaborations between Peck School of the Arts students and the Turner Ballroom Restoration Trust. Peck School of the Arts students invite you to visit Showdown for post-Gallery Night inspiration, conversation, and revelation. Held in conjunction with Turner Hall’s new Local Emerging Artist Platform (LEAP), the event will feature live music, theater, dance, performance art, film, and visual arts exhibitions ranging from the two-dimensional to installations. Immerse yourself in new experiences–all under one roof at the beautiful and historic Turner Hall Ballroom, an infinitely expandable venue and special resource for the citizens of Milwaukee. Aftermath, Turner Hall’s already popular Gallery Night showcase, is a perfect place to see diverse new work and enjoy food and drinks after the galleries close. It’s your chance to meet and begin to understand a new generation of emerging artists.
