On August 20, the Riverwest Neighbor-hood Association (RNA) met at the Gordon Park Pavilion. The main item on the group’s agenda was a recap of Gordon Park’s first summer with Larry Kenny of the Milwaukee County Parks Department.
A public hearing took place Thursday, July 26, at Milwaukee Education Center (MEC), housed in buildings from the old Schlitz brewery at 1615 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Three hundred people showed up and 51 testified in a tightly controlled forum on spending proposals for federal grant monies targeted to low and moderate income residents.
After months of construction, traffic can flow freely through Center Street again. This is welcome news for Center Street businesses, which have been eager to restore the flow of traffic to the area.
