Who Will Lead Milwaukee County?

 

County Executive Primary Set forFebruary 15

The Riverwest Neighborhood Associationand the Riverwest Currents are sponsoring a Milwaukee CountyExecutive Candidate Forum on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 7-9 PM at the GordonPark Pavilion, Humboldt and Locust. All five candidates have beeninvited to participate. It will be moderated by peace activist GeorgeMartin. The Forum is free and open to the public.

 

Five candidates have declared for theMilwaukee County Executive position vacated when Scott Walker becameWisconsin’s governor. A nonpartisan primary set for Tuesday, Feb.15 will narrow the field to two candidates who will face off for theApril 5 election.

Cheap Thrills: Currents Cartoonist Crew Goes Gallery in Green Bay

Yours truly is honored to be guest curator for a showing of comic art by Wisconsin artists at the Lawton gallery at UWGreen Bay, titled Cheap Thrills: 20 Comix Artists From Wisconsin. The show was suggested by Dr. Stephen Perkins, head honcho at the Lawton gallery after he saw a showing of work at the Firecracker gallery in Madison which was curated by David Mueller, Coth, and me. “Wow!” he said at the time, unaware that organizing cartoonists is like herding cats.

The Bully Boycott

Mark Belling is a bully, and like all bullies, he is afraid of and displeased with something within himself. I don’t believe in karma exactly, but when you throw as many stones as Belling, they’re bound to return to you in the form of an avalanche.
