“I liked to think that in some small way I was doing my part to preserve some of America’s past. Now I have a more exciting job. I’m cleaning up after America’s future.”
RiverView & Riverwest
“When I first moved to the RiverView residence hall, I thought the Riverwest neighborhood was a happening place where I could get involved. The parks are gorgeous, and there are many people milling along the streets,” says Amy Budnowski, freshman at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee about her first impression of the Riverwest neighborhood and community. “I love to go to the parks and I have run along the river paths multiple times as well.”
There’s No Place Like Home

Neighbor Spotlight • Irene Wergin

“People live longer than they used to,” remarks Irene Wergin.
At ninetythree years old she certainly has the perspective to make such a statement.
After all, being born in 1915 means that her family and friends included people who came of age in the 1800s. And with a sharp and amazingly supple mind she is capable of capturing in words stories that bring to light not only her history, but also that of many of our families.
