It’s that time of year again! From September 26 until October 10, our town will host movie makers, students, fans and out-n-out “film geeks” from all over the world for the fifth annual Milwaukee Film Festival. Movies of all genres will roll all day and into the night.

Rebecca Nole is your typical Riverwester, inasmuch as Riverwesters are not typical people.
She was born in the Bronx and grew up in New York City and went to Farello Laguardia High School For Arts And The Performaing Arts. If that sounds familiar to anyone, it’s the school where the movie “Fame” was set.

Sean Kafer has a map of the Mississippi near Madrid, Iowa from 1877. It shows the main channel of the river surrounded by wide meandering channels colored red or blue, wandering miles into the surrounding countryside. “That’s the way the river was. It changed course every year,” Sean says.
