Further Down Stream July 2002

A five-alarm fire caused an estimated $3 to $4 million in property damage last month to several condominuim units under construction on Commerce Street. The buildings, which were unfinished, are owned by Legacy Real Estate Partners. Although police couldn’t pinpoint a cause, they are investigating suspected arson.

Jewel-Osco Liquor License Denied

Followup on the Jewel-Osco RNA story from last month: On May 28th, the Utilities and Licensing Committee voted 3-1 to deny Jewel Osco’s liquor store license applicaton at East Capitol Drive. Voting against the license were Pawlinski, Bohl, and Gordan. In favor was Cameron. Absent: Herron.
