Hang on to your hat! After 12 years as the Advertising Manager and editor of the Further Down Stream page, this issue will be my last one with the Riverwest Currents. Life is drifting in a different direction and I have accepted a full time position with the City of Milwaukee, starting in July.
As a founding member of the Riverwest Currents it has been a great pleasure to work with editor, Jan Christensen and publisher, Vince Bushell on sussing out the nuances of community life ever since our first issue rolled off the press in February of 2002. This issue is newspaper number 150!
It has also been a joy to work with a broad slice of creative types who have contributed their ideas and community happenings to these pages. Special thanks to artist Glenda Puhek for her design work on our ads and accountant Brian Dettmering who keeps us on a steady course.
We love bringing the news of Milwaukee’s river communities to you every month and we thank you for your continued support of the Riverwest Currents. Keep on reading and keep it local!

Starting with the August issue, Lee Ann Gutowski is coming on board as our new Ad Manager and Calendar Editor. Lee is a Riverwester who writes articles for the Currents and also did a bang up job of organizing the Riverwest Follies last March.
