Longtime Riverwest resident and current Milwaukee poet laureate Antler will lead a poetry workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturdays from June 7 to July 26 at Woodland Pattern, 720 E. Locust St. The main focus will be reading, discussing and writing poetry of social and personal transformation, but all types of poetry are welcome. Beginners are welcome along with experienced writers. According to Antler: “William Carlos Williams said of poetry that people ‘die miserably every day for lack of what is found there.’ Our goal will be to discover what is found there and to manifest it in our own unique words and ways.” For further info, call Woodland Pattern, 263-5001.
