Further Down Stream July 2013

RNA RUMMAGE – Donations are needed for the annual RNA Rummage fundraiser on Sat & Sun, July 20 & 21 at 3278 N Humboldt. Items may be dropped off on the front porch beginning July 12. Volunteers are needed to help set up on Friday evening, July 19, during the sale, and to take remaining items to Goodwill on Sunday afternoon (trucks/vans needed too!). CAFÉ VOCAR – Due to unexpected electrical and plumbing delays, the June opening of Café Vocar (932 E Wright) got pushed back a couple of weeks. An Outdoor Patio Grand Opening is planned for July 4th, but also check cafevocar.com for updates. Much More on next Page!

Beerline AS ARTery

Artery – a path for the life blood of the body. A main connector. ARTery – a ‘creational trail in 
Milwaukee’s Harambee neighborhood as envisioned by the group beINtween led by Keith Hayes and 
friends.
 
BeINtween and Hayes like to play with words in defining their art and vision. For many this project may be news but not to those “connected” to the group by social media. What struck me first and foremost about this conference was Melanie Ariens’s art. It was on display and hanging in the window in the long entrance way of Discovery World. Expanding on her metaphor, hanging there in the window was the familiar, her blue jean baby. Recycled, maybe a little worse for wear, but still functional, indeed vital for life.
