As the program manager for UW-Milwaukee’s film-forward Union Theatre, Sieczek rarely screens films as a casual observer. “I’m always looking at programming ideas,” he says, “Whenever a new film comes out, whenever there’s a festival, and there’s always a festival every month somewhere, I kind of see what’s out there and I slowly start to accumulate titles and lists of films.”

Get out your wayback machine, ’cause I am taking you back to the 20th century, about 1971, and you are sitting in a darkened theater watching 25 dancing girls on the big screen. They are in a circle and you are looking down on them as they smile at you. They are the petals of a flower.

Project Q, a youth program of the Milwaukee LGBT Center, is hosting the first ever “HomoComing: A Queer Halloween Homecoming” on Saturday, October 25, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Turner Hall. Sponsored in part by the UWM LGBT Resource Center, the dance is youth-oriented but is open to people of all ages.
