On April 5, Riverwest residents in the northern half of the neighborhood will be voting for one of two candidates for the MPS School Board 4th District. They will choose between incumbent and Board Vice President Charlene Hardin and challenger Bernadine Bradford. We asked each of the candidates to answer a series of MPS-related questions of importance to our neighborhood.

A Farewell

Dear Readers,
This is my last month as editor of the Riverwest Currents, so this is a goodbye of sorts. I’m not leaving the city or the neighborhood, but I am moving on to new editorial challenges and opportunities.
It is not without sadness that I leave the Currents, even though working on it has been a wild ride at times. Helping plan this publication in December of 2001 with Vince Bushell, we were full of ideas about what we wanted to accomplish and who we might tap to write articles….
4th Congressional District Candidates: On the Issues
Eight candidates are competing to replace Democratic U.S. Rep. Gerald D. Kleczka, who is not seeking re-election. The 4th District includes all of Milwaukee, Cudahy, St. Francis, South Milwaukee, West Milwaukee, and part of West Allis.
Riverwest Currents and storyhill.net asked 4th Congressional District candidates to respond to questions about issues relevant to Milwaukee-area voters.
