North Avenue Dam Pedestrian Bridge

Tying together two red ribbons, Third District Alderman Mike D’Amato and Sixth District Alderman Mike McGee, Jr. celebrated the opening of a pedestrian bridge linking their two neighborhoods as Mayor Barrett declared the North Avenue Dam Pedestrian Bridge open at a ceremony on December 15.
Conservation District Earns Unanimous Vote
On December 21 the Milwaukee Common Council voted unanimously to pass the East Village Neighborhood Conservation Overlay Zone. The zoning change will take effect April 15, 2005.

Holmes School Now Offers K-8
Oliver Wendell Homes School, 2463 N. Buffum St., has made several changes to its programming since the Neighborhood Schools Initiative began in 2000. Although the school was not one of the overcrowded area schools that benefited from facility additions, other parts of the plan have affected it.
