In Milwaukee the population appears to rise with the temperature, and July is a month for lazy afternoons and sticky summer nights best spent on the porch. In fact, July 7-13 is National Porch Awareness Week – a campaign dedicated to leisurely time spent on our neglected front porches, steps, and lawns, with an emphasis on “front-yard culture” and interaction with neighbors and passers-by.
Publishing is not necessarily community-building–it may be “merely pushing content or information at people.” What do you wish you were listening to? What do you wish you were looking at? What do you wish you were reading?
The six blocks between these two streets exhibit a considerable variance in housing prices. There is, on average, a $10,000 to $20,000 greater price paid for homes on the east versus the west parts of the neighborhood.

On June 4, 16 GED students at the COA Youth & Family Centers Adult Education Center were awarded diplomas at MATC graduation ceremonies. At one time or another all had dropped out of school, but at some point they decided they wanted to get their high school degree.
