Supporting Lead-Safe Homes and Healthy Neighborhoods in the City of Milwaukee
Milwaukee is moving forward in the battle to end childhood lead poisoning. In the past five years, rates of childhood lead poisoning have been cut in half, from 31.9% in 1997 to 16.0% in 2001.
It is Your Home and with it Comes Your Property Taxes
If you own your home, your City of Milwaukee property taxes for 2002 are due on January 31, 2003. If you have a mortgage on your home, the taxes may be part of an escrow account that the bank holds for you and uses to pay your taxes for you. Then you have to do little more than make your monthly mortgage payments, and the bank is collecting your tax money for eventual payment.

For real! Say the words Hip Hop and most of us are struck with negative images. Guns and thugs…gyrating, half-naked females…forty ouncers and drugs…black youth acting the fool in the streets. Our media is saturated with and perpetuates these images. How could we think any other way?
