The Harambee Ombudsman Project will be proudly celebrating their 25th Anniversary with a gala affair, on Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 at the Radisson Hotel – Mayfair. The event will include a noted speaker, a dinner, a silent auction and entertainment. Harambee is a Swahili word that means pulling together, which is exactly what the agency has been doing in their community for a quarter century. HOPI does this by providing resources and a wide range of programs for youth and adults, such as AODA, housing assistance, community organizing and much more. Another reason to celebrate is that HOPI, currently located at 335 W. Wright St., will soon be moving to a brand-new home. The new building is under construction on the corner of King Drive and Hadley Streets, and will be shared with the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corp.
