Congrats to Vital Source, the Riverwest-based monthly arts and entertainment magazine celebrating its second birthday this month. They’re having a party at Onopa Brewing Company on Saturday, February 21. Join staff and friends of the Vital Source at 9 p.m. for live music, great food, and plenty of prizes. Proceeds will benefit WMSE, Frontier Radio 91.7 FM. Earlier that day, Onopa Brewing Co. will celebrate its 3rd anniversary and opening of its new Bistro with head chef Andy Bechaud. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Woodland Pattern is offering youth writing workshops beginning this month. Poetry Collage: Creative Writing and Computer Design for Children ages 10-12 years old will be held Thursdays, February 5 through March 11, 3:45-5:15 P.M. Instructors are designer Maureen Kane and writer Stacey Sievert; cost is $65/$60 members. Students will combine words and pictures using a digital design studio and will produce a large scale poster by the end of the course. Also being offered is a creative writing a publication workshop for children ages 9-12, the Pre-Teen Poetry ‘Zine with Sarah Schuetze. The class is Fridays from February 6 to March 12, 4 to 5:15 p.m. Cost is $50/$45 members.
