Water and Wisconsin Streets were overtaken by hundreds of exhuberant anti-war protestors, many of them Riverwesters, in a Critical Mass demonstration Monday, March 24. Rush hour traffic was backed up for several blocks while police cleared the intersection with batons and pepper spray, resulting in at least nine arrests. About one-third of the protesters went to the jail to wait for police to release those they had arrested. More details about the police-protester conflict are online at Milwaukee Indy Media.
